Mimic Zombie

I drew stages from a cat in a red jacket and bandages to a body stripped of flesh and fur, leaving a skeleton and tattoos. I combined the jacket from Akira, the Spear of Longinus from Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Bitcoin and Ethereum symbols in its eyes and props.

I layered tattoos of characters I remember, including Batman, Chun-Li, Doodles, Pudgy Penguins, Mario, Spider-Man, Luffy, Mickey Mouse, Arale, Goku and Ryuk. I wanted images from different worlds to become parts of one body.

I inscribed “NFT IS DEAD,” a phrase repeated during the market downturn, on the zombie’s body. I wanted to humorously show a culture declared dead returning through combinations with other images.
